History:
Lakeshore Park began as the Dodge Brothers Number 2 park. The land was donated by the Dodge brothers to the State of Michigan and was one of a number of parks in Oakland County established in that way. At some point, the park was turned over to Novi Township. Over the years, the Township and later the City of Novi have made improvements to the park including acquiring additional property on Walled Lake that was incorporated into the park boundaries.
The Lakeshore name is sometimes used to refer to the entire Lakeshore/North Novi Park properties.
